3 Idiots is a heart-warming story that will bring you to tears and laughter throughout the movie. It is filled with songs and dances that at the end of the movie you might not realize that the song is still stuck in your head and you are singing it.

The movie starts on the present day, where Farhan faked a heart attack on a plane to be able to get off and called Raju to meet with Chatur, knowing he might know where Rancho is, who went missing since their college graduation. Not knowing Chatur only called them because of a deal he made with Rancho ten years ago. While their journey in finding Rancho starts, an intermittent flashback on their college life is seen.

In their college, Farhan Qureshi studied engineering to pursue his father’s wish but actually wants to become a wildlife photographer. Raju took engineering to change his family’s fortune. While Rancho, who is carefree, was driven by his passion for machines and devices, studied engineering for the joy of it. They faced many hardships under the director Viru “Virus” Shahastrabuddhe, who tried to destroy their friendship. But the three friends tried their best to find their way in surviving and pursuing want they truly desire.

It is full of hilarious moments that will bring you into laughter. The movie will not only give you full entertainment but also you will learn something about love, life and friendship; learning how to become truly happy and successful in life. Knowing the value and importance of yearning what one truly wants to become.

Quotes/lines:

Rancho: Pursue excellence and success will follow, pants down.
***
Farhan Qureshi: Today my respect for that idiot shot up. Most of us went to college just for a degree. No degree meant no plum job, no pretty wife, no credit card, no social status. But none of this mattered to him, he was in college for the joy of learning, he never cared if he was first or last.
***
Rancho: That day I understood that this heart scares easily. You have to trick it, however big the problem is. Tell your heart, 'Pal, all is well. All is well.'
Raju: Does that solve the problem?
Rancho: No, but you gain courage to face it.
***
Machine Class Professor: Why are you back?
Rancho: Sir, I forgot to take something...
Machine Class Professor: What?
Rancho: Instruments that record, analyse, summarize, organize, debate, and explain information which are illustrative, non-illustrative, hardbound, paperback, jacketed, non-jacketed with forward, introduction, table of contents, index that are indented for the enlightenment, understanding enrichment, enhancement and education of the human brain through sensory root of vision... sometimes touch.
Machine Class Professor: [confused] What are you trying to say?
Rancho: Books sir! I forgot to take my books.
Machine Class Professor: Could you not say it in simple way?
Rancho: I tried it before, but you did not like the simple way, sir.
***
Farhan Qureshi: [after finding out Rancho topped their exam] That day we learned, when your friend flunks, you feel bad, when he tops, you feel worse.
